I have owned Raziel for about 2 years. He is an 11 yr OTT and an old style build ( solid) and has a few quirks and confirmation faults that take a lot of management. He is however a total unit, diligent, quirky and a lot of fun.
About 9 months after purchasing him, he suffered a shocking case of colic which came about from damage from probable Strongylus Vulgaris infestation as a young horse.
The hard work and dedication by Longford Equine Clinic and myself had a positive outcome and he is managed with strict worming practices, toxin management and aspirin.
There is also good feed management required. Hygain has assisted me to manage his weight and health. He is honestly looking and feeling the best he has, and I am able to keep him conditioned and not too fat. He is not a huge fan of hay and it has been difficult to feed him without getting him "hot" or too heavy for his joints and flat feet with pigeon toes. Your nutritional advice has stopped me feeding him more supplements than I required (I was doubling up) and given me options for changing his feed as required. The low starch, yummy diet of Zero, Munga, Fibre essentials and a tad of lucerne chaff with salt and EQ has just topped it off. I also have an excellent coach and farrier to assist me with his overall management as nothing in his limbs is straight from the knee down :)
I would encourage anyone to approach Hygain for advice and consider their products.
